Luke Theodore Walton (born March 28, 1980) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach of the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played 10 seasons in the NBA as a forward, winning two NBA championships. He also won a title as an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors, also has been the head trainer for the Lakers from 2016 through 2019.
Walton and the Arizona Wildcats played with basketball. He was a second-team All-American along with also a two-time first-team all-conference selection from the Pac-10. The Lakers selected in the next round of the 2003 NBA draft him. Following the 2010 NBA Finals, Hall of Famer Bill Walton, Walton and his father, became the first father and son to have won several NBA championships: Bill and Luke in 2009 and 2010. His best season mathematically was 2006–07 with over 11 points, 5 rebounds, and above 4 assists per match.
Since the Warriors’ interim head coach in 2015–16, he directed the team to the winning streak to start a season in league history.
